Environment: Rough Terrain Time: 8:00 AM Weather: Warm and Sunny
It was early morning, the sun had been above the horizon for no more than an hour or two, although its brilliant rays shot down warmth all the same. Aden could tell by the crisp, fresh air - and by fact that the sky was cloudless - that today was going to be a gorgeous one. Beautiful days like this one always made Aden feel oddly motivated, and it must have been resonating off of him, because Nero was in an awfully chipper mood himself. The Cyndaquil crawled excitedly from shoulder to shoulder on his master's back,
"Cynda! Cynda!"
Aden smirked and turned his head to his side, green eyes now focusing on his little fire-mouse companion. The small pokemon stopped and returned the friendly stare, although as with most Cyndaquil his eyes were damn near shut. He hopped up and down and squeaked, Aden merely throw up his right hand and gave him a thumbs up.
"Okay buddy, let's find ourselves some wild pokemon, shall we?"

Level 5 A wild Zigzagoon would appear, running rabidly towards the duo as if protecting something. With it's fur standing on end defensively, the duo would be hard pressed for time to decide what to do about the charging Pokemon.

As if on cue, there would be a rustling in the grass just as Aden finished addressing his companion. Aden was nowhere near as perceptive as Nero, and thus he would find that his fire-mouse friend was already on alert, and he was now perched forward on Aden's left shoulder. Something was coming their way, and when it finally was close enough to recognize, Nero was already on the move. The Cyndaquil was fiercely protective of his master, and the whole purpose of going out today was to battle and test his strength, so it was no wonder that he acted on his own. It was as the Zigzagoon had leaped upwards that the Cyndaquil had done the same motion - and seemingly in slow-motion the two pokemon were headed straight towards eachother in mid-air.
"Get 'im, Nero!"
Aden yelled loudly; cheering his friend on as they were mere inches from contact. The heads of the two pokemon collided with a thud, each of them utilizing a very basic attack known as 'tackle'. The momentum of the two were equal, and even more interesting was that they appeared to strike eachother with equal force, because neither of them lost or gained any ground once they had struck. Immediately Nero had stretched his front arms and grabbed the Zigzagoon by the fur, and the raccoon-like pokemon had done the same, but grabbed the Cyndaquil's shoulders (he doesn't have fur, after all). The two spun a full 180 degrees before they would hit the ground, and with the wild pokemon so close to him Aden felt as if he should take a step or two back.
Cyndaquil and Zigzagoon were pushing eachother back and forth in a test of strength, all the while Aden was fumbling for his Pokedex, so that he could record data on the Zigzagoon. While the wrestling match ensued the Pokedex would be flipped open, and immediately the device would identify the wild pokemon,
"Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon. Zigzagoon is extremely curious and so ends up walking in a zigzag path between things that interest it. "
Aden looked at the pokedex and then back to the struggling pokemon, he then smirked and flipped the decide closed; placing it back into his pocket. He had let Nero fight alone for long enough as it was, and now it was time to help him out and fight as the team they were! Aden hunched forward and his right hand curled into a fist, with a punching motion he threw his arm up into the air, simultaneously screaming to his Cyndaquil,
"Nero! Use leer!"
It didn't take but a single second for the Cyndaquil to obey, and nearly instantaneously his eyes began to glow red and gaze ominously at the Zigzagoon. The Raccoon-type pokemon made the mistake of taking a peek, and instantly it would find that it lost all of its energy, and right away found itself slumping over into the ground. Aden smirked and squeaked in triumph, but it wasn't over, not yet - once more pumping his fist in the air, Aden would shout another command,
"Nero, use tackle! Get him while he's weak!"
The Cyndaquil darted forward, his hard head smashing into the soft underbelly of the Zigzagoon, sending the pokemon sliding across the grass and rolling rapidly. Nero got down on all fours and began another charge at him without being ordered to do so, although Aden didn't mind, because he knew Cyndaquil was only doing what was necessary to ensure victory - and *maybe* to prove his dominance. The results were much like the first blow, and the Zigzagoon was battered a final time, and sent flying through the grass, at which point Nero darted back towards his master and began to climb his leg, eventually reaching his shoulder.
Aden stuck out his hand with palm facing upwards, and Nero promptly low-fived him.

With their celebratory low-five done with, the two set their sights on finding more pokemon to battle - and maybe capture, assuming Aden found one that he liked. He wasn't sure how well Nero was going to handle other pokemon being around his master, and with the pokemon egg getting closer and closer to hatching, it wouldn't be long before he would find out. Left hand would curve over his eyes to block the blinding light of the sun, and looking into the distance he searched for anything that looked interesting. There was nothing but dry grasslands from what he could see, and with a shrug he would continue walking - who knows what they'll find next?

With a barrage of rocks and dirt, a small yellow creature popped out of the earth, boggyin' his way up to the surface, and landing with disco-worthy pizzaz before the man and his Cyndaquil. BATTLE MUSIC HERE Level 7 A wild Sandshrew appeared!

It wasn't long at all before the Cydaquil's ears had perked up once more, because just like before Nero was able to detect something incoming before Aden. Before he knew what was happening, all sorts of rock and dirt were fling into the air just ahead of him, and more than a few grains of dirt hit him as this happened, whereas Nero - that prick - remained clean and un-dirtified. At first all he could see were yellowy arms, and then before long it was leaping from a hole in the ground and standing before them, and immediately Aden had his hands on his pokedex, which he was promptly opening.
"Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon. Sandshrew hates moisture and lives in holes it digs in dry places. It protects itself by curling into a ball. "
Aden's eyes glanced away from the pokedex to get a look at the Sandshrew, and then a smirk became apparent on his face as he put the device away. He liked this pokemon, he thought it looked kind of cool, and the fact it could dig would be very useful in battles he was sure. Not only that, but he was bigger than Nero now that he looked at it - and just the overall build of the pokemon led Aden to believe he was more powerful than his Cyndaquil. This was going to be a tough battle from the looks of it, although he supposed it was good since he didn't have to knock it out; merely tire it out that he can capture it. Nero was perched stiffly on Aden's left shoulder, the Sandshrew could feel the aggression and lowered itself into an equally aggressive posture.
"Okay Nero! Show him what you got!"
The Cyndaquil squeaked loudly in response to these words, and without further hesitation had leaped off of his master's shoulder and began dashing towards the Sandshrew. Nero moved with great speed, so much so that a little trail of dust was following him as he moved in range to perform a tackle. The Sandshrew surprisingly stood his ground, until at the last moment before impact it would roll itself up into a ball. Nero's head collided with the thick hide of the Sandshrew, and it did virtually no damage. Not only was its hide protecting it, but because it was in a ball it just rolled away and absorbed the impact. Flames sparked to life as the Cyndaquil growled in anger, and with another charge forward he aimed to hit him again.
The Sandshrew un-balled itself as Nero was halfway there, and then in a rather unexpected maneuver it would kick dirt in the Cyndaquil's direction! The dirt hit him in the eyes and he couldn't see, but like the soldier he was Nero kept moving; something the Sandshrew didn't expect. A thud was heard as Nero's head made contact with the soft belly of the Sandshrew, and immediately the pokemon was thrown backwards and landed on its back. Nero began to immediately wipe at his eyes, because now it was beginning to bother him, and he could no longer rely on the Sandshrew's last-known location. As the Cyndaquil rubbed furiously at his face, the hurt Sandshrew would begin to get back up, and with a surprising aggressiveness it would attack Nero.
"Nero look out!"
The small claws of the Ground-type pokemon scratched across Cyndaquil's chest; immediately drawing small amounts of blood. Nero yelped in pain and stumbled backwards, but before long that pain turned into anger - Aden recognized this immediately, and he knew what was coming. Nero would begin to thrash viciously in the Shrew's direction, and it would be hit over and over by powerful strikes of Nero's arms, legs, and head. When Nero lost his temper he was able to muster a great amount of strength, and judging by the force of the impacts, the Sandshrew wasn't able to handle such attacks. Aden seen his chance, and removing a Pokeball from his pocket, he would throw it at the Sandshrew.
It would bounce off of its head and open up; immediately sucking the pokemon inside. It would wiggle furiously inside the ball, and all Aden could do was watch and wait.

With a last attempt at opening the Pokeball, the Sandshrew would finally be caught as the Pokeball locked around him.
Congratulations on your new Sandshrew!
