Hitaru Zantimichi

Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance: When one lays eyes upon Hitaru, he or she is greeted with a handsome face. His sharp cheekbones show a leanness garnered through various workout routines designed by his father. His hair falls haphazardly into his eyes, and he commonly wears a headband to keep most of the follicles out of his face. His blue eyes betray an intensity which is lost on his frivolousness. Hitaru is a natural leader, and his persona is as such. He seems to emit an 'aura' of authority, which has helped acquire the trust of many friends he has encountered.
Hitaru's upper body is toned, its musculature system very developed and defined. His upper body contains the bulk of his weight, which would be around one hundred and sixty-five pounds. His skin, if one were to ever view him without his expensive clothing on, is slightly tan - though through the use of traditional tanning via the sun or through a salon remains to be seen. His upper arms and forearms are perhaps Hitaru's favorite part of him, were he asked to pick. He spent many months training and lifting weights in order to increase his arm strength. Although not a body builder, muscle is obvious in Hitaru's body. He prefers wearing fashionable clothing; a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled and collar popped, or a tight-fitting polo shirt. However, he prefers name brand above all else.
The young man's lower body is generally clad in designer jeans, most of which are intentionally distressed. His legs are just as toned as his upper body, due to the running he does in the mornings. He is rather tall, standing at five foot ten inches. He wears, quite uncharacteristically, a pair of generic sneakers. The kind which are sturdy and can take a lot of use. Because of his goal to become a Pokemon trainer, he decided that nice shoes could be replaced with dependable ones.
Personality: Hitaru is, in one word, vain. He focuses on how he looks, and he constantly worries about his personal appearance. He values status, and therefore makes sure that his status is reflected in his dress. However, underneath this seemingly arrogant mask is a regular teenager who wishes above all else to become the best Pokemon trainer he can be.
His eyes betray his vanity, showing an intensity one would not expect to find within the young lad. Hitaru grew up on the social battlefield, and has become an intrinsic observer, and a master of body language. He has learned the subtle arts of manipulation through the various power struggles of the high and mighty people that his family often interacts with. This fact has given him a calculating demeanor, one that is difficult to break through. However, he is loyal to his friends and will go out of his way to help them.
Background: Hitaru was born the only son of a wealthy family, hence his privileged nature. His father, Yuudai Zantimichi, was a very successful merchant and one of the top Branch Presidents of the company in which he worked, Poke Mart. Many people have heard of the Poke Marts, and as such they are widely popular throughout the Pokemon world. Yuudai was a serious man who took a no nonsense approach to parenting. He made sure Hitaru had the best available teachers and went to the best private school one could find. It could not be denied that Yuudai truly loved his son, and wanted the best for him. Even though his work kept him away, Yuudai tried his hardest to find the time to be with Hitaru. Hitaru respects his father as both a man and a father, and tries to make him proud.
Aoi Zantimichi, named for the blue eyes she possesses (which transfered directly to her son) is much more frivolous than her husband. She enjoys the social life granted to her by Yuudai's position, and makes sure to participate in it. Hitaru garnered most of his looks from her, along with his sense of vanity and pride. Aoi does not interact with Hitaru much. She could not be called the "best" parent. However, she does try to sometimes.
Pre-Adventure: Hitaru walked down the trail, dust flitting through the air with every step. He very much enjoyed this part of the forest, it was so tranquil and serene. He didn't have to worry about which Company President or Widowed Socialite he had to impress next.
As he walked, the sun high overhead, Hitaru thought about life in general. He wasn't one for much philosophical thought, but as of late he was worrying. What was he going to do with his life? He was almost seventeen, and knew for a fact that he didn't want to follow in the family business.
He wandered further down the tiny dirt trail into the forest, the green all around him. The trees were thick and tall, and he could hear the chirping of Pidgey's within their lofty canopies. The sunlight filtered through the forest, and the indigenous Pokemon located here never bothered the young man during his walks.
He continued on, when something fateful happened. He heard a large stumbling in the bushes to his right. Assuming it was just a Rattata or something, Hitaru continued to walk. However, this was no mere Rattata. It was the tiny mouse's evolved form, a Raticate. It stood at about four feet on it's hind legs. It's powerful front teeth looked menacing in the dim light. The Pokemon looked directly at Hitaru, and then attacked.
Hitaru began to run. 'What the hell am I going to do now?' He thought, his feet pounding the dry earth. Of all the days Hitaru walked, he had to pick today to not switch into his walking shoes. He was just in class, and hadn't made it back home to change into more appropriate clothing. The well-dressed young lad looked over his shoulder. The Raticate was directly behind him, and gaining. 'Damn this guy moves fast! Hitaru thought to himself, rounding a sharp turn in the trail. His right foot hit a patch of slick grass.
The ground rushed at him faster than normal.
He landed and rolled, hitting his head on a rock. Dazed, he looked up to see a snarling Raticate barreling toward him. He closed his eyes, hoping to escape from the impending pain, when he heard a sharp cry. A fierce growl, answered in kind by another being. Hitaru peeked his eyes open. A large pink shape appeared in front of him, barring the Raticate's path. As his vision returned, he noticed that it was a male Nidoran. "Wha...what are you doing?" He asked the creature. It swiveled his head to face one large, blue eye toward him. The look the Pokemon gave him is one that Hitaru will never forget.
Suddenly the Nidoran launched a fierce series of attacks. The Raticate was hurt, but still fighting. It retaliated with a vicious Hyper Fang attack. The Nidoran nimbly dodged the sharp fangs, making the Raticate stumble. Not letting up, the Nidoran used tackle once more, knocking out the Raticate.
By this time, Hitaru had risen to his feet, and watched the fight, stunned. The Nidoran walked up to him and sat at his feet. It nuzzled his leg, making a purr-like sound. Hitaru pet the little pink ball of spunk, laughing. "That was quite a fight there little guy." He said, scratching behind the little guy's ears. "Say, you're wild aren't you? You wanna come home with me? I've always wanted my own Pokemon." Hitaru stood, and the Nidoran stood as well. Hitaru bent down, looking at the horn on its head. "That thing looks formidable." He said, poking the end. His finger was pricked, blood welling to the surface of the wound. "I think I'll call you Ikasu. You like that name boy?" The Nidoran growled happily, nuzzling his leg again. "Alright then, let's go home Ikasu."
The two walked back towards Hitaru's house.
