Humidity hung thickly in the air, giving travelers the feeling that they were swimming instead of walking through the city. Hotaru was no exception. The young heiress waded through the metropolises streets, marveling at how the cities architecture had been integrated with it's natural surroundings. The buildings seemed to sprout from the earth just like trees, and the cobblestone roads gave a more natural feel than concrete or asphalt.
Though she was in a new place, Hotaru wasn't as enthusiastic as she normally would be. This humidity was no good for her complexion, and her hair style had been destroyed by the moist air. In any other situation, she would spend as long as she could in the city before departing for her new checkpoint, but at this point she would gladly camp out on a route if it meant saving her appearance.
Trudging along through the disgusting air, Hotaru's mind floated back to a simpler time not long ago when her biggest concern was when she wanted to be served her afternoon tea. Not that she regretted her decision to depart from her old life, but she was beginning to miss the finer things in life, particularly her dance lessons.
A few times a week, Hotaru received ballroom dance lessons from a strapping young man who lived a few houses away. According to her mother, it was vital for a young lady of high society to know how to dance...and Hotaru didnt mind the attention from her instructor. Before she departed, the pair was working on a particularly difficult waltz which was traditionally performed at celebration balls.
Escaping the relative discomfort of her current situation, the young woman extended her arms as if she were performing the dance with a partner. Her feet began to carry her body in flowing circles as the classical melody was hummed to herself. A few pirouettes were thrown in for an added flash, but otherwise the dance was performed without flaw. At this point, she didn't care what passerby's though of her antics, she just needed to escape this abhorred weather. [/blockquote]

I can't believe it. I'm almost done...
The preparatory treks that I've made during this course of time has allowed me to further indulge in the experiences and knowledge that I would need in order to become the extremely successful and well-known Professor that I aspired to be. Finally, the final stage had been reached as I would simply need to compile all the data and findings that I possessed and after wards, I would then present my findings to my mentors in which I would hopefully have enough experience in order to transcend to the title of Professor. Professor Loy Masjien...It had a certain ring to it, at least in my opinion.
All of my Pokemon would not be within the confines of their Pokeballs as usual however they would be participating in a make-shift game concerning a sports ball that I lended to them. They were obviously having a good time as I could hear the excitement as I paid attention to the PDA-like device within my hands. Sitting on a bench in one of the parks that was present within Jade City, I would continue to mind my own business until I looked around and saw a girl dancing about. Odd the scene was but I didn't continue to pay attention to her for long as I went towards my original task.
Mm...

Hotaru continued to dance along the streets, oblivious to her surrounding. Suddenly, she collided with another body, knocking both forms out stumbling backwards. With her happy delusion dispelled, Hotaru's prickly disposition returned with an extra helping of rage.
"Watch where you're going you bumbling oaf. A girl could get hurt with maniacs like you inconsiderately flailing around the streets."
Her arms became crossed as she glared daggers at the stranger, awaiting her rightful apology so she could be on her way. [/blockquote]

Well, I was fixing to get up to go see how the gang was doing but as soon as I got up, someone ran into me, causing me to stumble backwards slightly. It was the same girl that I saw dancing around ago and she certainly wasn't pleased that I interrupted her little moment. Spitting a coarse remark at me, I'd simply look up at the taller female as I gave a shrug.
My bad.
[/right] With that, I would continue to walk towards my group of Pokemon, still playing their little improvised game. I wouldn't cease the game however though I would stand and watch as my eyes would shift from the on-going game to my work stored within my device.[/blockquote][/font]

With a scoff, Hotaru would fire back. "My bad? 'My bad!?' You carelessly ram into me with no regard for my safety and all you can say is 'My Bad?!' I could have broken my neck. I could have been killed! I DEMAND a proper apology you peasant!"
If Hotaru seemed angry before, she was now in a fit of rage more becoming of a Gyrados than a young woman. Still, such a disregard for common courtesy could not go unpunished. A new instinct over took her as her left hand rested on a Pokeball on her belt, seeking protection from her companions should the situation turn violent. There was no telling what kind of violent acts commoners were capable of. [/blockquote]

My head would whip around as a look of shock would coat my features. This girl was insane! As she continued to spout out the hazards and injuries she could've sustained which were sprinkled with insults, I would shout back:
BROKE YOUR NECK? You were the one dancing around like you're in La-La Land! What are you, four years old!? Y'just need to calm down heifer and I know you didn't just call me a peasant like you're some sort of princess!
My dark optics would widen as her hand would fall upon one of her Pokeballs around her belt. Crap! She was probably going to sick one of her Pokemon on me! Eyeing Aero, I would motion for him as the Gliscor would simply walk towards my position as the other Pokemon would simply stop and stare in confusion, for the girl's uproar would cease their recreation.
Look. Do you want to battle? Will THAT make you feel better for me almost breaking your neck?! If so, we'll do a one on one, something quick in order to let off all that steam "PRINCESS".

"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I'M A PRINCESS YOU BUFFOON." Hotaru shrieked, loosing all sense of displaying proper manners. Her fingers curled around the small sphere clipped to her belt and the center button was pressed, causing it to expand to the size of a baseball.
"Lets go Hasami!"
The ball was hurled high into the air it split on it's hinges, expelling cascade of liquid light that fell to the ground. At first, it lacked any defined shape, but in no time at all, the form of a bulbasaur was viable.
"Saur!"
She growled confidently, ready to face her opponent head on. [/blockquote]

Agh! The worst thing is that I'm goin' to have to deal with people like you when I become a Professor soon! You almost make me want to consider a career change!
Looking towards Aero, I would give an motion forward as he walked forward and began to hover five meters high within the air, the exact distance between the two Pokemon was ten meters. Looking towards the Bulbasaur, his luminescent yellow eyes would spell indifference for he wished he didn't have to battle for a reason such as this. Whispering towards him, I would say:
Do your best, I don't care if we win or lose but if we win, don't overdo it, coo'?
A nod would encompass his response as I would give the first attack.
How about a Poison Sting!
[/right] With the opening of his maw, Aero would begin to shoot a numberless amount of small needle-like projectiles at the currently stationary Bulbasaur. Of course, the attack itself would not constitute much damage by itself, with the addition of irritation, however it was simply an attack to see what my opponent was capable of doing. The distance would still be kept the same however Aero would remain aware at any sudden movements that the Bulbasaur could possibly pull off.

Watching as the Gliscor flew into the air, her body tensed. Fighting a flying type pokemon without having wings herself put her at a supreme disadvantage. However, hopefully she could overcome this disadvantage with intelligence.
Suddenly, a poison sting attack was launched at Hasami, something that would do considerable damage due to her type disadvantage. "Hasami! Growl!"
Letting out a guttural gurgle, the small Bulbasaur managed to create a distortion in the air using sound waves, causing the piercing needles to be deflected to either side.
"Fire back! Petal Dance!"
On her command, the bulb on the back of Hasami pulsed, sending a plume of flower petals into the air. Immediately after being releases, the pastel plant matter spiraled towards the Gliscor in hopes of delivering a powerful, confusion inducing strike. [/blockquote]

Quite clever!
I would compliment as I'd watch as the poisonous attack would be thwarted by my opponent's defense. After hearing the female's command, I would look as petals were being generated via the Bulbasaur's bulb, sailing towards Aero at respectable speeds.
Watch out!
Aero would hear the command as he'd sharply dodge to the left, causing the variety of petals to go sailing past him. After the quick strafe, he would descend towards the ground quickly as he'd remain upright upon his tail, eyes glued upon the Bulbasaur for any quick signs of retaliation. I would not blindly launch another offensive for the girl seemed to be an intelligent opponent, intelligence that both of them seemed to possess. Surely this was getting interesting...

The Gliscor descended from the sky, sitting up on it's tail as it watched Hasami. It was clear that firing attacks into the sky wasn't the way to win this battle. However, it had descended to the cobblestone streets, opening an opportunity for a strike.
Extending her finger outward, she shouted another set of orders to her pokemon.
"Hasami! Growling Tackle!"
Emitting a low pitched, intimidating growl, the grass type rushed forward, attempting to freeze her opponent in place with fear and then ramming into it with a tackle attack. However, would this new tactic be a success?

!
It seemed as if the opponent wanted immobilization to be a factor within her attack and due to the growl, Aero was no doubt immobilized for there was no way for him to effectively dodge the attack coming towards him quickly.
But he wouldn't need to.
I would simply watch as a command would not need to be given for Aero knew exactly what to do, the added factor of the growl disabling movement would not distort our original plan. The Bulbasaur would indeed tackle Aero but would find Aero's defenses amplified due to him using Harden prior to the Tackle's impact and thus, he would not move one bit. Yes, his range of movement would be decreased however the distance between the two Pokemon was so close that this would not be a factor. The added shock of the blow alleviated the effects of the immobilizing growl and immediately after the impact, I would say:
Grab her and use Ice Fang!
Jagged pinchers would grip around the Bulbasaur's body as Harden's effects were lifted, definitely causing some damage as the grip upon the Bulbasaur would make it difficult to struggle out of. However, Aero would not give the opponent a chance nor time to counter as his mouth would already be coated in the frosty energies as he would sink his fangs into the Bulbasaur's head, definitely causing high damage due to the type of the attack as well as the magnitude of the attack itself. Localized freezing would also enshroud the Bulbasaur's head as I looked to hopefully finish this battle.
Poison Jab!
Aero's right appendage would be coated within poison as he would quickly slam the Bulbasaur across her frozen face, effectively sending her flying backwards and possibly ending the battle due to the high amount of injuries sustained or because of the Bulbasaur being unconscious.

Bulbasaur leaped into the air without a hitch, it's teal body hurdling towards the immobile Gliscor. Making contact head first with her target's body, Hotaru realized something was wrong as the pokemon began to fall over. Gliscor's body seemed frozen in place. Shoot, a Harden attack... she thought to herself, watching as it's unscathed body toppled backward. Though it's body had become rigid, it didn't stick it to the ground, causing it to fall over like a top heavy vase.
Hasami began to fall as well, toppling forward in a somersault as she unexpectedly tackled something much harder than she had anticipated. As the two pokemon fell, it seemed that Gliscor regained it's mobility.
Reaching forward, it's claws grabbed onto the bulbasaur from behind, its claws interlocking around her stomach. A command for an Ice Fang was given, and a film of frosty energy coated the teeth of the Gliscor. Things looked bad. Grass types were weak against Ice attacks, and Hasami was in a very vulnerable position.
Or was she? Adrenalin began to pump through the novice trainers veins, prompting her to give a command as the Gliscor dove in for its attack.
"Hasami! Petal Dance!"
At the moment that Gliscor'ss fangs chomped into the Bulbasaur's body, the bulb that was pressed against Gliscor's chest expelled a powerful stream of petals, giving the Flying and Ground type almost no chance to avoid the strike. Gliscor would would most likely be propelled backwards and slammed into a nearby building, dazed from impact and the spiral trajectory given by Petal Dance. [/blockquote]

Shoot!
It seemed that the Trainer would provide a counter as soon as the Ice Fang connected and it just so happened to be the petal-based technique that I saw earlier. Due to the attack unleashed at point-blank range, I knew that evasion nor defense would be possible as the attack caused Aero go to spiraling through the air, damaged from the hit but could possibly take more damage if I was unable to assist in his recovery for he was heading towards one of the many buildings that were present within the City.
Use Harden before you hit that building A!
Hearing my warning, rigidity and bolstered defenses would allow the blow from the building to be cushioned, mitigating the now-dazed feeling that the Gliscor had. Apex reflexes would not be possible at the moment but it would not be as severe as if he wouldn't have done anything about it. For now, he would remain stationary within the air as I did not want to provoke movement until Aero had a firm grip upon his senses again.
But Aero wasn't the only one who has sustained damage. Due to the Ice Fang piercing the Bulbasaur's face, localized freezing would begin to manifest itself around that said region, further restricting the Pokemon's view and movement and due to the Type usage, the attack itself had done its potential in damage. With two injured parties and ten meters between the two of the Pokemon, it seemed as if the match was at a stand-still, at least, until one was able to have the faster recovery.
Though I did not wish to take it that far. Stepping forward, I'd notice that our bickering and Pokemon Battle has created far more attention as need be with persons exiting the building that Aero collided into as well as other bystanders, who watched the battle with wide eyes. Turning to the girl, I would say:
That's enough. We're causin' way too much attention and also, I don't want to put our Pokemon through anymore just because of our stupid argument.
[/b][/color] With that, I would kneel down besides Aero as he would attempt walking though I wouldn't let him. Carrying him on my back, the rest of the Pokemon group would congregate around me as I looked to turn around and leave. Before doing so, I had some last words for the individual. I can see we're going to have MANY official battles within the future so if anything, how 'bout manifesting that anger of yours towards getting stronger so you'd have a greater chance at besting me than me besting you. With a slight pause, my eyelids would lower as I'd continue: Oh, how rude of me! I didn't even tell you my name! It's Loy. Whether you do or don't want to tell me yours, I'll just refer to you as "Girl" if the latter but, I guess you can consider us rivals. Anyways, I'm leavin'. Just be sure to get the Bulbasaur checked out. [/color] It wouldn't matter if the first statement was laced with sarcasm concerning my absence of manners, I had greater priorities to take care of. With that last statement, I'd turn on my heels and begin to exit the now-populated area, this minor skirmish has only gotten me side-tracked from my more pressing matter. [ EXIT ]

Coward...
As quickly as he had come, her opponent fled the scene. She must have been too much for him. With a smile, she withdrew Hasami and was on her way.
Exit.
